Joy E. Graham
August 23, 1938 - September 25, 2025
Joy E. Graham, 87, passed away September 5, 2025, at Summer Breeze on Wilmington Island. Born August 23, 1938, to Frank A. and Winifred Graham, she graduated from Young Harris Academy and the University of Georgia where she was an ADTT. She taught School for 33 years, and volunteered at Navy Relief and the Columbus, GA Art Museum.
After many moves, she lived on Wilmington Island, GA and was a member of the Wilmington Island Methodist Church. She enjoyed cross stitching, word puzzles, playing bridge, reading, old movies, and plants.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother; Frank Graham, Jr., Felder Sharp Graham, John Pietro Graham, and infant Ella Graham Merritt.
Surviving are her sons; Thomas B. Merritt, Samuel G. Merritt, and John F. Merritt, niece; Ivey G. Peterson (Tod), Uncle Winston Felder (Winifred), former husband; Dr. Thomas Merritt. Also surviving are half-nieces and nephews; Francis Augustus Graham, Tove Graham Gemmell, Susan Graham Stockstill, and George Hollister Graham.
Donations in her memory may be made to NAMA, American Heart Association, Young Harris Academy, or any charity of your choice.
A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Wilmington Island Methodist Church.
